Borgo Il Castagno has a rich history linked to Florence, Pisa, and Siena. Originally a key route for Etruscans and Romans, it was noted by Archbishop Sigerico in the medieval period. By 970, it belonged to the Bishop of Volterra and faced destruction in 1430 and 1554. Constructed around 1600 by the Rinuccini family, it served as a country residence and administrative center. In 1815, it became property of the Marchesi Capponi, often visited by the Grand Duke of Tuscany. Transferred to Marchese Attilio Incontri in 1834, it once spanned thousands of hectares but fragmented over time. Restoration in 1998 revived its charm.

Accommodating up to 100 guests for receptions and overnight stays, it boasts a reception hall for 130 and a garden capacity of over 250. Couples can choose to celebrate their civil ceremony in the villa’s garden or hall, or at nearby historic sites like San Gimignano or Palazzo di Certaldo Alto.
